What is The Surrogate Father Program
The American College Dictionary Defines Surrogate as:
“One appointed to act for another, one to take the place of, an as a duty.”
The Surrogate Father Program is a not-for-profit 501(c) 3 program that will deal directly with the male/father role, and what it takes for them to be responsible in their homes again. It will offer the community the opportunity to respond to the dilemma of fatherless children who are a risk to themselves and their communities.
The target participants for this program are young men starting from the age of puberty to an age of appropriate responsibility. Statistically, this is the age when we lose most of our young people to the streets.
The Surrogate Father Program will show the participants the possibilities that are available to them in their every day lives. They will see alternatives in their lives never seen before. They will see the choices that are available to them.
This program offers a unique way of “being available” for the participants and their families.
